What a month for series junkies: In March, weekly highlights await us – from “Bridgerton”, “Moon Knight”, “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Halo”.

March doesn’t make a mess, it packs a punch: It’s been a long time since there has been such an oversupply of promising series restarts and comebacks of popular series. Of course, the second season of the Netflix hit “Bridgerton” is eagerly awaited. Just like the now 18th season of “Grey’s Anatomy”. Meanwhile, Marvel disciples can look forward to the brand new series “Moon Knight” with Oscar Isaac (42) as the title hero, passionate gamers will see their Master Chief in flesh and blood for the first time thanks to “Halo” on Sky. And that was by far not all.

Netflix

At the beginning of the new month (March 4), the thriller series “Part of Her” with character mimin Toni Collette (49) starts on Netflix: The story: “In a sleepy town in Georgia, a sudden outbreak of violence for the 30- Year-old Andy Oliver (Bella Heathcote, 34) and her mother Laura (Collette) set an unexpected chain of events in motion. In their desperate search for the truth, Andy travels across America and finds himself in ever-increasing danger the deeper they delve into the dark mysteries her family.”

However, it will take until March 25 for the Netflix highlight for mostly female viewers. Then the second season of the surprise hit “Bridgerton” starts – albeit under significantly different signs. As in the original novel, the focus shifts from Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor, 26) to her brother Anthony (Jonathan Bailey, 33) as he tries to live up to his role as the Bridgerton head of the family. The search for the right wife is part of it. Anthony is said to be dating beautiful Kate Sharma, played by newcomer Simone Ashley (26). Fan favorite Regé-Jean Page (34) aka Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings, whom Daphne married in season one, will not return in the new episodes.

Disney+

The 18th season of the hospital soap opera “Grey’s Anatomy” will start on March 21st on the Disney+ streaming service and on Joyn. A week later, the new episodes can also be seen on ProSieben. It was announced in advance that the series had now been extended by a 19th season – contrary to the concerns of the main actress Ellen Pompeo (52), who gradually sees the story as having been told.

At the end of the month, Disney + is delivering a brand new Marvel superhero with “Moon Knight” (March 30), which probably not everyone had on their radar. About the plot: “I suffer from insomnia. I can’t tell if I’m awake or dreaming,” says main character Steven Grant (Isaac) in the trailer about his suffering. Only gradually does he realize that he suffers from a dissociative identity disorder. One of his unconscious identities is mercenary Marc Spector, who has made many enemies over the course of his operations. To make matters worse, the “duo” must also realize that their fate is closely intertwined with that of Egypt’s most powerful gods.

Amazon Prime

On Amazon Prime Video, “Star Trek: Picard” will start its second season on March 4th – of course again with Patrick Stewart (81) as the legendary Starfleet captain. In it he has to deal with two old adversaries. The omnipotent fan favorite Q (John de Lancie, 73) reappears, seemingly creating an alternative reality by snapping his fingers. “Q went back in time and turned our world into a totalitarian nightmare,” Picard said. In order to get the timeline back on track, he doesn’t seem to shy away from reactivating the dreaded Borg Queen (Alice Krige, 67), who for her part had already messed up time in “First Contact”.

Fans of the hilarious and bloody anti-superhero series “The Boys” still have to wait for season three. The waiting time will be shortened thanks to the animated series “Diabolical”, which will also be streamable from March 4th and takes place in the same universe. It is an anthology series that tells a different story about the “Supes” and their sometimes cruel deeds in each episode. Of course, an animated version of Homelander should not be missing.

sky

If you want to see the second season of “Euphoria” in German translation, you can do so from March 23 on Sky. The English broadcast started at the beginning of the year. Good news for all fans of Rue Bennett (Zendaya, 25) and Jules Vaughn (Hunter Schafer, 23): HBO has already renewed the drug drama for a third season.

Shortly after the turn of the millennium, Microsoft launched its own Xbox console with its first-person shooter “Halo”. More than 20 years and many more parts later, the Master Chief will land on the ringed planet from March 24th as a series hero. “American Gods” star Pablo Schreiber (43) is allowed to mime the usually taciturn super soldier, assisted by Jen Taylor (49) as artificial intelligence Cortana and Danny Sapani (51) as Captain Jacob Keyes.

Free TV

The crime thriller series “Clarice” will be available on free TV from March 15th. The title character is the FBI agent Clarice Starling from the world-famous story by author Thomas Harris (81) about the cannibal Hannibal Lecter. The series takes place during the two films “The Silence of the Lambs” and “Hannibal”. Instead of Jodie Foster (59) or Julianne Moore (61) as in the two films, “Pretty Little Liars” star Rebecca Breeds (34) mimics the title heroine. Big downer: Due to the complicated legal situation, the cult cannibal is not allowed to appear in the series.

More “Star Trek” is also coming up on free TV. On Tele 5, the first season of “Star Trek: Discovery” celebrates its free TV premiere from March 15th. Fans of “Grey’s Anatomy” who watch the new season from March 28 on ProSieben (9:15 p.m.) can also take a look at the start of the fifth season “Seattle Firefighters” an hour earlier. At the start of the new “US series Monday”, fans can look forward to a series crossover of the two formats.
