The railway has presented the “Limone” variant for the tracks between Grafing and Ostermünchen, many citizens are appalled. But there’s already enough trouble with the “purple” route further south.

When the planners and communications people at Deutsche Bahn stop by the Catholic rectory in Grafing on Tuesday, the church square in Aßling the next day and an inn in Tuntenhausen on Thursday to explain themselves and their plans to people face to face, then we recommend the railway requires visitors to wear masks. This is of course still due to the corona pandemic, but if one or two residents from the districts of Ebersberg and Rosenheim come to the discussion with foam at the mouth, then it is probably more due to the recent decision on the route for the northern access to the Brenner Pass. “Lime” is the name of the planner in the freshly colored code the almost 16-kilometer section between Grafing and Ostermünchen, which is intended to complete the new track from Munich to Tyrol and thus the northern approach to the Brenner Base Tunnel. The horror along the route is great, further resistance is foreseeable. As if the planners didn’t have enough problems with their “violet” route around Rosenheim and through the Inn Valley to Kufstein.
