Police divers are now also on duty in the search for the missing six-year-old Arian from Bremervörde in Lower Saxony. On Wednesday they searched the Oste River near the boy’s home, a police spokesman said. In addition, emergency services drove on the water with a sonar boat. The police divers are necessary because you can’t get everywhere by boat, the spokesman explained. The search also continued on land with numerous emergency services from the fire department, police and other organizations. They counted on the support of dogs and drones.

Arian disappeared from his home on Monday evening. Police believe he ran away on his own. According to police, the child is autistic and does not respond when spoken to. The emergency services assume that the boy will not come forward if he notices people nearby. The father alerted the police when he noticed that Arian was no longer at home.

Missing person case in Bremervörde: “The biggest goal is to find the boy.”

Hundreds of fire and police forces then combed the area around the boy’s home. There is a large area of ​​forest nearby. The German Red Cross, the German Life Saving Society and numerous volunteers also took part in the search. A helicopter was also used. On Tuesday evening, a Tornado plane flew over the area to take aerial photos with a thermal imaging camera.

After two cold nights, the situation was very serious, said the police spokesman. But: “We still have hope and we are still searching with undiminished commitment.” Everyone is motivated. “The biggest goal is to find the boy.” From the residential area, a small unpaved road leads past a rapeseed field to a wooded area. It was unclear whether the child took this route. According to the fire department spokesman, police dogs indicated something in some places. The police set up a tip line (more information here) and asked the public for help. She also posted a picture of the boy.
