Brandenburg: State parliament sets up a committee of inquiry into the RBB – media

At the instigation of the AfD parliamentary group, the Brandenburg state parliament has set up a committee of inquiry into the RBB scandal. This should now clarify whether the state government has exercised its legal supervision of the RBB sufficiently. In addition, possible abuses in the use of funds by the RBB are to be investigated. The background is the scandal surrounding the dismissed director Patricia Schlesinger.

The AfD deputy Dennis Hohloch explained that the control of the RBB had failed so far. Therefore, the state parliament must now be given more powers in order to be able to provide comprehensive information. On the other hand, left-wing MP Thomas Domres said the committee was premature. First of all, the investigations of the public prosecutor’s office against those responsible for the RBB should be awaited, he said.
