Offspring among the Bactrian camels in the Cottbus Zoo
They already have a name: Ringo and Rafit are the names of the two little colts who were born in Cottbus.
The Cottbus Zoo’s herd of Bactrian camels has been enriched by two small colts. The two animals – Ringo and Rafit – were born at the zoo in mid- and late March, said a spokesman for the facility. Visitors can already observe the two animals in their enclosure.
However, the animals’ father is not there yet because he could push and bite the little ones. According to the spokesman, he first has to get used to new arrivals. Bactrian camels live up to 35 years and originally come from Mongolia. They belong to the camel family and have two humps.
