Brad Pitt almost stole the show from Max Verstappen at the British Grand Prix

When fiction meets reality. This Sunday, at the Formula 1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone, Brad Pitt did not go unnoticed. The American actor was not there to attend the race as a spectator, but for the filming of his new film, taking place in the world of motorsport.

Also, we could distinguish the presence of an eleventh garage in the pits, reserved for the (obviously fictitious) Apex team, at the center of the plot of the feature film, whose title has not been formalized, which is expected in late 2024 or early 2025 on Apple TV+, and which is directed by Joseph Kosinski (author, last year of Top Gun: Maverick).

Brad Pitt, who drove on the legendary track during the weekend, was present on Sunday on the starting grid of the Grand Prix in a white and black combination in the colors of Apex, alongside British actor Damson Idris.

“It was probably the best briefing we’ve ever had”

“I’m having the best time of my life. It’s really great to be here, we have so much fun. Everyone was great with us, the teams opened their doors to us, the FIA helped us a lot, as did Formula One and Stefano Domenicali,” the actor said on Sky Sports F1.

The Hollywood star was able to take part in the pre-race briefing with the drivers. “It was probably the best briefing we’ve ever had,” said seven-time British world champion Lewis Hamilton, co-producer of the film.

The two Apex single-seaters, which have the characteristics of an F2 car but have been given an F1 makeover by Mercedes to blend in with the peloton, also took their places on the starting grid and took part in part of the formation lap. They were driven by former pilots Craig Dolby and Luciano Bacheta.

On the track, and this time it was not fiction, the reigning double world champion Max Verstappen (Red Bull) won his eighth victory of the season in ten races, ahead of the British Lando Norris (McLaren ) and Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes).
