The second part of director Denis Villeneuve’s science fiction epic grossed almost $500 million in its first few weeks – more than the first part.

The success of the science fiction epic “Dune: Part Two” continues and is already greater than that of the first part. According to the industry portal “Box Office Mojo”, the film has already grossed 494.7 million US dollars (454 million euros) worldwide since its theatrical release. The first visually stunning part (2021) from the director Denis Villeneuve achieved a result of more than 400 million euros worldwide. The second part of “Dune” was released in German cinemas on February 29th.

The material is based on a series of novels by Frank Herbert. The story centers on the desert planet Arrakis. Only there is a special, valuable substance – which is why the planet is exploited by other powers in the galaxy and its inhabitants are oppressed. Villeneuve gathered many stars for his film adaptation, including Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh and Austin Butler.
