Borussia Dortmund II – VfL Osnabrück: goal comeback for Moukoko – football

He just missed this record.

In the third division game against VfL Osnabrück (2: 2), BVB jewel Youssafa Moukoko (17) scored his first competitive goal since March 2021 – almost eleven months ago. On March 13, he scored in the Bundesliga 2-0 win over Hertha BSC.

With his goal on Saturday afternoon, he is “only” the second youngest third division goalkeeper. The record is still held by ex-Bayern star David Alaba (29/now Real Madrid), who was four days younger when he scored against Wuppertal (3-1) on Matchday 6 in 2009/10.

After his last goal in March, a long series of injuries began for the junior international (contract until 2023). Overall, Moukoko had to pause four times.

Goal comeback for Moukoko!

Dortmund uses the international break to give Moukoko a bit of match practice – with success! A hit for self-confidence. And he once again shows his innate goal instinct.

▶︎ 60th minute: VfL defense chief Beermann wants to play back to goalkeeper Kühn. Moukoko sprints in between and after a pressing shot with Kühn he only has to push the ball into the empty goal to make it 2-0.

However, BVB II does not bring the lead over time. Osnabrück can still get a point through two goals from substitute Simakala (73rd, penalty kick / 90th + 2) and remains in the promotion race. However, Lower Saxony are now five points behind Kaiserslautern, who are currently in second place and who won their home game against Halle (1-0).
