It’s official: Boris Johnson has repeatedly and shamelessly lied in the UK Parliament. What has been known beyond Westminster for years is now confirmed by a report by a committee of inquiry. The verdict has consequences – for him and for his party.
If, as a Member of Parliament, you are convicted of willful lying by Parliament, then at least an apology would be appropriate. Insight and remorse, at least feigned, would be the order of the day. But Britain’s ex-Prime Minister Boris Johnson apparently gets by without such rules of decency.
