Bonuses of 1,600 to 2,500 euros offered to metro and RER drivers for the 2024 Paris Olympics

New attempt to save service to the Olympic sites this summer. This Wednesday, negotiations for the Paris 2024 Olympic bonuses granted to RATP metro and RER drivers ended with a proposal for a bonus of 1,600 euros for agents who will work from July 22 to September 8, the unions announced and management this Thursday.

This bonus will be supplemented by an “exceptional event” bonus of 44.10 euros per day worked on 12 metro lines and RER A and B during the competition periods of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, which could lead some driving agents to receive 2,500 euros in total. This system concerns 2,000 agents out of the 30,000 who will work during the Games.

The first Olympic Games in history with 100% public transport

Discussions have been underway for several weeks, in particular due to the request from the Ile-de-France transport authority to its drivers to postpone their vacations.

The authorities have been hammering it home for months: these Olympics will be the first in history to see 100% of spectators access the competition sites by public transport. The transport organizing authority in the region, Ile-de-France Mobilités (IDFM), has already announced that it will increase the offer by 15% compared to a normal summer during the Games period.
