The body of an infant was discovered in a bag Tuesday afternoon in Quesnoy (North) in a building struck earlier in the day by a fire, we learned from a source close to the investigation.
A fire “started in an apartment in Quesnoy” around noon, this source told AFP, confirming information from The voice of the North.
“The apartment was empty of occupants” so there were “no injuries”, but “the frame threatened to collapse”. Firefighters then “did extensive searches to secure the site,” she added.
They discovered “a bag emanating a very strong odor” and found the body of an infant around 5:00 p.m., according to the same source, specifying that a magistrate had gone to the scene.
