The Israeli army announced that it had recovered the body of a hostage overnight in Khan Younes, in the south of the Gaza Strip. This body was identified as that of Elad Katzir.
Elad Katzir, who was 47 years old at the time of his kidnapping on October 7 from Kibbutz Nir Oz, was “reportedly killed in captivity by the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization,” an army statement said. His mother, also taken hostage, was released on November 24 as part of the only truce in six months of war.
