BND wants to continue using journalists as spies – media

Secret services don’t like it when secret information about them is in the newspaper. In February 1994, one of the leading agents of the Federal Intelligence Service (BND), Volker Foertsch, was given the task of stopping the “information leaks” from the service as head of Department 5 “Security and Counterintelligence”. The agent should find out how it could be that journalists kept getting insider knowledge from the service. Foertsch also wanted to use his own contacts with journalists to do this.
