Foreign Minister Baerbock and her US colleague Blinken are urging Israel to better protect and care for the people in the Gaza Strip. At the same time, they are trying to avert a war with Hezbollah.
The messages are almost word for word, and they are becoming increasingly sharper. Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (Greens) and her American colleague Tony Blinken are both traveling to the Middle East for the fourth time these days since the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel on October 7th. Baerbock arrived in Israel on Sunday and held talks with President Isaac Herzog and the new Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz, who took office on January 1st. She also wants to visit the West Bank this Monday and meet with representatives of the Palestinian Authority.
