Terrorist attacks, natural disasters, bus accidents – that also means unknown deaths. BKA employees then give corpses their identities. One case was particularly close to Chief Detective Isabel Riege.

“Plane crash 1972 Tenerife/Spain. 155 dead – mostly German tourists.” A black and white image of a plane wreckage.

“Gas explosion 1978 Spain.” A destroyed campsite, burned out cars.

“1988 Ramstein plane crash.” A picture shows the collision of three planes. Another, a burning wreckage crashing onto the runway. In the third photo: A plane in flames.

Year for year. Assassination after assassination. Misfortune after misfortune. At the very end of the hallway is an Excel spreadsheet. Three A4 sheets of paper stuck together with adhesive tape. In one column: the number of victims. 155. 105. 70. 223. 9. 101. 113. 105.
