Big mess at Saint-Lazare station, more than two hours late on some trains

To go to Normandy, you have to be patient. The region is not served by the TGV and it normally takes 3h30 to reach Cherbourg. This summer, you have to add 30 minutes, because there is work on the line. This Wednesday, to patience at Saint-Lazare station, you had to add perseverance to take your train. The Paris-Cherbourg at 6:31 p.m. thus left 2:30 a.m. late.

The reason ? A traffic incident in Evreux at the end of the afternoon. Trains to Le Havre and Deauville were also disrupted. And when it doesn’t want to, the J line was hit by “a breakdown in the network manager’s installations”. Passengers bound for Pontoise, Mantes-la-Jolie or Eaubonne joined those bound for Normandy. Line L was also in the road, due to a incident at Sartrouville.

The heat staggered a few people, quickly taken care of by SNCF agents and taken to an air-conditioned room where the parents of children were invited to settle. Foggers were also distributed to the youngest. It would have taken others to bring down the anger of some passengers exasperated by these delays.
