Between Hallbergmoos and the airport:Beaver paralyzes the S-Bahn line
The rodent is hit by the train and lies injured on the tracks. The police blocked the route to save him.

It is well known that beavers can fell trees and dam streams. However, it was not previously known that they can also paralyze an entire train route. One of these really cute little animals actually managed to do this on Sunday, albeit rather involuntarily. At around 12.15 p.m. an injured beaver was sighted on the route between the Hallbergmooser S-Bahn station and the airport.
The officers of the Neufahrn Police Inspectorate then closed the section of the track and were actually able to recover a beaver. This had apparently previously collided with the underbody of a moving S-Bahn and was injured in the face, according to the police report. The beaver was handed over to the animal welfare association in Munich for medical treatment and later release into the wild, where he was then cared for alongside a conspecific.
