A very violent burglary. Bernard Tapie and his wife were assaulted during the night from Saturday to Sunday during a burglary at their home in Combs-la-Ville in Seine-et-Marne.
Around half past midnight, the couple were surprised in their sleep by hooded attackers dressed in black overalls, who tied them with electric cables and beat them, a source close to the investigation told AFP.

The 78-year-old businessman was notably hit with a baton on the head, but the two victims were not hospitalized, Melun prosecutor Béatrice Angelelli told AFP, who added that jewelry had been stolen.
The wife of Bernard Tapie, who received blows in the face, managed to get rid of her ties to go to a neighbor from where she gave the alert, according to the source close to the investigation. She was taken to hospital for consultation.
“Dominique was accompanied by the Samu to the emergency room in Fontainebleau, from where she should be released this morning. She received several blows but she is well, ”the grandson of the former deputy and ex-Minister of the City, Rodolphe Tapie, told AFP.
“My grandfather refused to be taken, he stayed at home, he is knocked out, very tired. He was sitting on a chair, he was hit with a baton, ”he added.
A Rolex and some stolen jewelry
According to Rodolphe Tapie, four attackers entered his grandparents. Entering through a first-floor window, they stole two watches, including a Rolex, earrings, bracelets and a ring, according to a source close to the investigation.
The Versailles judicial police were seized of this investigation for aggravated theft with violence and forcible confinement, another source close to the investigation told AFP.
