At the Berliner Ensemble, a few anarcho nerds are blowing up capitalism with their own means while chanting “Fuck the System.” The cheerful outlook is provided by Kay Voges, who turned Sibylle Berg’s latest novel “RCE” into a psychedelic AI flood of images installation that hacks directly into the synapses and psychological systems of the audience. Things are more old-fashioned at the Deutsches Theater (DT). Here a storm surge is the prelude to coming ecological disasters. Jan-Christoph Gockel has “Hauke Haien’s Death” staged, an update of Theodor Storm’s textbook classic “The Schimmelreiter” (if that still exists at all: a textbook classic) by Robert Habeck and Andrea Paluch that was published a good two decades ago. It was a coincidence that ARD broadcast the film version of this completely original Storm adaptation on the same weekend under the title “Die Flut – Tod am Deich”. The interest in this could also lie with the prominent half of the author duo.
