Institutional investors with assets greater than $100 million are required to report their holdings to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on a quarterly basis. Berkshire Hathaway boss Warren Buffett also has to submit the 13F form quarterly, which is publicly available at the authority. The document for the second quarter of 2023 was published on August 14, 2023, the data is as of June 30, 2023.
Looking at the portfolio, it is particularly noticeable in the largest positions that numerous holdings have been left unchanged. The adjustments made by star investor Buffett in his investments in the oil– giants Occidental Petroleum and Chevron. Also noteworthy is the reduction in the stake in Activision Blizzard by 70 percent. While the investment in the video game company was still in the top ten Berkshire holdings in the first quarter of 2023, it slipped to 22nd place in the second quarter.
