Beautiful seizure of cocaine in a ship arriving from Brazil

The Coke Road. For nearly two weeks, the authorities have been coming across large quantities of cocaine between Seine-Maritime and Pas-de-Calais. Last Thursday, 25 kg of white powder hidden in a ship from Brazil were discovered by the gendarmes of Le Havre, we learned on Tuesday from the Lille prosecutor’s office.

The boat in question, a container ship, arrived straight from Brazil and stopped in Le Havre before continuing on its way to a destination that was not specified. Guided by information or simply thanks to their flair, the soldiers of the maritime and port platoon got their hands on 25 kg of cocaine, packaged in loaves and “magnetized to a metal wall inside the ship”, explains the prosecution in a statement.

A little less than a ton since the beginning of July

A preliminary investigation has been opened, entrusted jointly to the specialized interregional jurisdiction of Lille and the judicial police of Le Havre. The investigations will relate, in particular, to the importation and transport of narcotics in an organized gang and the participation in a criminal association with a view to the preparation of a crime.

A seizure concomitant with several discoveries of cocaine loaves on beaches along the coast of Seine-Maritime and Pas-de-Calais since Sunday July 2. The gendarmes had picked up 22 kg of drugs between Le Havre and Etretat and nearly 40 kg on the side of Le Touquet. It is not yet known whether these three cases are linked.
