“Beat the Star”: Frederick Lau demands video evidence on tennis TV

This referee did not suit him at all.

The “Schlag den Star” fans could once again look forward to a long evening of television on Saturday evening.

Rapper Marteria, whose real name is Marten Laciny (39), and his buddy, actor Frederick Lau (32), fought for the coveted suitcase with 100,000 euros. Lau wanted to play against professional footballer Max Kruse (34) on “Schlag den Star” in January, but had to pass because of a positive corona test. He was all the more sure of victory now: “Last time Corona stopped me. Nobody can stop me now!”

Lau and Marteria at the end of their strength

However, moderator Elton (51) expected top athletic performance from his two candidates. Before the first game, he warned Frederick’s wife, presenter Annika Lau (43), in the audience: “Tomorrow everything will hurt him. You have to look after him there.”

Shortly thereafter, the two opponents were properly put through the wringer. Already in the game “Balloon”, in which a balloon had to be pushed back and forth without touching the ground, people gasped and gasped. The course with an adventurous vehicle called “Swincar” was also fast – and so extreme that Frederick Lau almost ran over Elton at the end. However, he was primarily worried about the expensive vehicle: “We only have one thing like that!”

Even in game number 6, there was no breather for the two candidates. When “climbing the stairs” it was necessary to dash up a tower several times over four floors. In the meantime, nerves were on edge, Frederick and Marten were panting in competition. Elton had no sympathy. He just asked gleefully: “Naaa?” Commentator Ron Ringguth (56) was amused by the panting of the two: “We can make a ringtone out of it, out of the noise!” The lungs were also challenged in the game “Blow out eggs”. Then Frederick Lau was ahead with 20 to eight points.

Zoff on the “mini tennis” court

A small tennis court was specially set up in the studio for “mini tennis”. A referee monitored the match and saw Frederick Lau’s serve clearly out of bounds. But the actor didn’t want to accept the announcement, claiming: “It wasn’t over!” Ringguth wanted to take the wind out of the actor’s sails: “The referee decides.”

But Lau didn’t want to give up and asked for video evidence: “Can we watch again?” Elton was now slightly annoyed and felt reminded of a notorious tennis star: “Fortunately we don’t have Mr. Zverev here.” But also after the video shown Lau wasn’t satisfied and insisted again: “He’s on it. I see that on it, sorry. The referee says he’s out, but he’s inside!”

Now the actor was indignant, moaning: “You can’t just say ‘off’ if he wasn’t off.” Marteria also got a line from Lau: “You can see it from there? I don’t want to discuss, let’s play.” Ron Ringguth already saw the Zoff barometer skyrocket: “Well, finally the tone is getting a bit rougher with the two buddies here!” Elton meanwhile warned of further complaints: “Me I wouldn’t mess with the referee!” That was no longer necessary – Frederick Lau was able to win this game as well.

Frederick Lau wins “Beat the Star”

After a nerve-wracking finale, in which a medicine ball had to be held between his knees for as long as possible, Frederick Lau then had the better nerves and the strongest leg muscles. At 12:55 a.m. he was allowed to accept the case of money with 100,000 euros.
