Bayrischzell doesn’t feel like going to the country doctor’s office in Bavaria

In the fictional spring the sun seems to shine quite often, and that’s of course a good thing even beyond the simple weather. Only sometimes, as an exception, rain is needed so that it somehow becomes even more dramatic than it already is. And what kind of drama doesn’t always happen in the mountains, where a village helper named Katja Baumann has to help the village again and again. A large portion of the TV audience seems to be unable to get enough of something like this, which is why the 13th season has already been filmed and will probably be broadcast next year. But that’s enough for the real community of Bayrischzell, which provides the backdrop for all this.

Not with “Spring” of course, because the “emotional family series” from the “ZDF-Herzkino” is shown in a pleasant way to promote tourism in the year-round spring-like climatic health resort of Bayrischzell in the Miesbach district. And this despite the fact that the village helper in question gets stuck on the Wendelsteinbahn in episode one of the twelfth season – together with a friend who is afraid of heights and a partner who has bladder pressure. And then – drama! – it also starts to rain. Which, dear viewers, is really quite rare in Bayrischzell.

But as I said, nothing is missing with this spring, even “Municipality of Bayrischzell” is included in the opening credits on the town sign. But they don’t need “The Country Doctor’s Practice” in Bayrischzell, or at least not a fictional one. It’s recently been broadcast on the Sat1 channel and takes place in Wiesenkirchen on nearby Schliersee, which was also made up. Apparently 60 episodes are already in the can. But now more filming for it in Bayrischzell?

At least when it comes to public streets and squares, the local council has now clearly said no. Film teams like this often take up quite a lot of space in their artistic creative process, and that is not always to the full joy of the people of Bayrischzell, who sometimes find themselves stuck in a traffic jam because of a roadblock due to filming and then can’t find a parking space in town because of all the film vehicles. Incidentally, there are hardly any such problems in the fictional spring. The best thing to do is to simply turn their country doctor’s practice there.
