Bayreuth district: around 17,000 liters of liquid manure leaked out in the accident – Bavaria

Around 17,000 liters of manure leaked in an accident on Saturday in the Bayreuth district – mostly into a tributary of the Red Main. An agricultural vehicle had overturned in a curve near Heinersreuth because the speed was too high, the police reported.

On its trailer was a liquid manure tank filled with fermentation residues from a biogas plant. The majority of the fermentation residues flowed into the Duhlbach, as it was also said. Because hydraulic oil was also leaking, the emergency services set up an oil barrier in the river. It was initially unclear what environmental impact this would have. Nobody got hurt.
