Bayern Munich: Tough statements by Lothar Matthäus about crisis Bayern Sports

The Bavaria face zero title season!

► DFB Cup gone!

► Champions League gone!

Championship almost gone!

In the current issue of SPORT BILD, record national player Lothar Matthäus (61) sharply criticizes his former club.

In the centre: Sports Director Hasan Salihamidzic (46), President Herbert Hainer (68) and above all CEO Oliver Kahn (53).

Matthäus when asked whether there might be changes at management level at the end of the season: “Something could happen at any time that you would not have thought of three to four months ago. Oliver Kahn definitely doesn’t have the store under control. I would have expected more clear leadership from Herbert Hainer as well. In hindsight, Salihamidzic’s transfers are not as good as one might have thought.”

The supervisory board will decide on Kahn’s future (contract until 2024) at a meeting on May 22nd.

Matthew about the problems with the Bayern boss: “He has other interests, a family, likes to keep his head clear, he likes to play golf. Suddenly he has to take responsibility for a company in crisis: a new world for him. Maybe he underestimated that.”

Bayern fans, press play! Is THIS Lewy scene balm for Brazzo?

Above all, he lacks the feeling for the club at Kahn: “People in Munich live and love FC Bayern, they are currently suffering with the club. I notice that at lunch, during conversations on the street. But Oliver doesn’t go there, maybe that’s why he doesn’t have a sense of how the fans tick, what moves them.”

The hard judgment of the Sky experts: “Oliver Kahn is invisible at the office, for the employees!”

Another criticism of Matthew: the dismissal of Julian Nagelsmann (35)!

Lothar when asked whether the expulsion was a mistake: “Yes, if you look at the results. Shortly before the change of coach, Nagelsmann had been backed by those responsible at FC Bayern. That’s why there has been a lack of credibility in public since the dismissal.”

He also cannot understand the handling of Thomas Müller (33), who was not in the starting XI twice against Man City.

Matthew: “I just don’t understand that.”

His warning to Thomas Tuchel (49): “Other coaches in Munich have already failed because of Thomas Müller.”
