When asked which prize he would like to receive at the ceremony next year, Bayern’s 45-year-old sporting director replied with a broad smile: “The one for the best team in Europe.” The goals of Munich in the premier class are first class. “We want to go far in the Champions League, if possible to the final. In addition to the championship and the cup, we want to play for all three titles,” emphasized the ex-professional.
Despite the departure of top scorer Robert Lewandowski to FC Barcelona, he sees the German record champions in a good position. “We have strengthened. The way everything is put together, we can look forward to the season,” said Salihamidzic. Regardless of the strong start to the season with three confident victories, he doesn’t want anything to do with Bayern’s supremacy and the threat of boredom in the Bundesliga. “Only three games have been played, the season is still long,” said the former Hamburger SV professional.
