FC Bayern only played 2-2 against Borussia Dortmund: Neuer, Goretzka and Upamecano were among the best from Munich.

At the last second he FC Bayern a certain victory in Dortmund still playful. After goals from Leon Goretzka and Leroy Sané, Moukoko and Modeste ensured a 2-2 draw. We take a look at how Bayern players fared in detail.

1. Manuel Neuer

After a leisurely initial phase, Neuer was challenged for the first time after half an hour and made a strong save from a Guerreiro shot on the short cross corner. A few minutes later, the national goalkeeper was challenged against Malen and made a strong save from close range. Shortly after the break, Neuer also deflected a deflected Wolf shot over the bar. When Moukoko made it 2-1, the keeper didn’t have a chance, but then he was on his feet quickly enough when Modeste had a big chance. Against Modeste’s equalizer, Neuer had no chance again.

Rating: 8/10

2.Benjamin Pavard

The Frenchman got into the game very well, anticipating well and occasionally attacking Malen with an effective and clean tackle. In the middle of the half, however, Pavard made a few careless mistakes, but pulled himself together again. Later, Pavard also did well in central defense, but came too late when Moukoko made it 2-1.

3. Matthijs de Ligt

Apart from a somewhat overly harsh foul in midfield, the Dutchman seemed extremely stable and strong in a tackle. Until he was substituted in the 62nd minute, the newcomer from Turin hardly let anything burn. Only after it was taken down due to an injury did the tree burn more and more frequently.

Rating: 8/10

4. Dayot Upamecano

Dayot Upamecano was the rock in the surf in round one with his presence, anticipation ability and tackle strength. Again and again he drove the BVB attackers to despair and clarified dangerous situations. The Frenchman continued strong but failed to stop Modeste on his assist to make it 2-1. However, Upamencano was not discouraged by this. Upamecano was not to blame for Dortmund’s equalizer.

Rating: 8/10

5.Alphonso Davies

Alphonso Davies made an unusual number of pass errors on the left and was also ineffective on his offensive excursions. Although he fought for a few balls, he also seemed lethargic often enough. At the first Malen finish, the Canadian only trotted alongside, the second even better Malen chance he caused by losing the ball. Davies was hit in the head by Bellingham just before half-time and had to remain in the dressing room.

Rating: 4/10

6. Marcel Sabitzer

Sabitzer made life unnecessarily difficult with his early yellow card in the 2nd minute. The Austrian generally found it difficult to get into the game, often came too late into duels and did not show the usual security. The midfielder stabilized towards the middle of the first half. However, he was sent off at half-time.

Rating: 4/10

7.Leon Goretzka

Leon Goretzka initially played inconspicuously and did not always cut the best figure in the passing game. In addition, he was lucky not to have been warned twice. In return, the eight rediscovered the goal threat that had been lost recently and scored the 1-0 out of nowhere with a well-placed long-range shot. After that, Goretzka found more security and repeatedly won decisive duels. A dangerous long-range shot in the 74th minute narrowly missed its target.

Rating: 8/10

8. Serge Gnabry

Serge Gnabry only noticed once in the first half that he processed a long pass poorly and drew Can’s yellow card. Otherwise there was nothing to see from the national player for 45 minutes. The offensive player was rightly replaced at half-time.

Rating: 1/10

9. Yamal Musiala

The youngster had a tough time, especially as he was closely guarded by Can and Bellingham. Musiala only managed to use his grandiose technique and create space for his teammates in a few scenes. When Goretzka made it 1-0, Musiala was instrumental in assisting. He also indirectly prepared the 2-0, although his pass was deflected. In the 65th minute he should have made everything clear after a Sané template, but failed at Meyer.

Rating: 6/10

10. Leroy Sané

Although Sané was the first from Munich to fire a shot in the direction of the BVB goal, the attempt after half an hour wasn’t a bit dangerous. Otherwise, very little came from the last strong offensive player. Significant was his faulty pass in the direction of Davies, with which he gambled away a good counter-chance. But it’s also a kind of quality to make it 2-0 right after the change of sides on a supposedly worse day. He then found more security in his offensive actions, prepared the Musiala chance, but in the end made an unpleasant impression with a lack of defensive work. It was unbelievable, for example, how he didn’t pursue a counterattack after a BVB corner against the only Dortmund defender, even though Meyer was still up front in Bayern’s half. Ultimately, this was also punished. His scene in which he intentionally or unintentionally hit Karim Adeyemi in the head shortly before the end was also borderline.

Rating: 5/10

11. Sadio Mane

Sadio Mané was hardly able to create a goal threat in the first half, but seemed a little more committed and agile than Gnabry or Sané. The Senegalese was also involved in Goretzka’s 1-0 lead, giving Musiala a great assist. He should have scored shortly after the break, but headed wide of the open goal. Afterwards, Mané could no longer set accents at all.

Rating: 3/10

12. Josip Stanisic (from 46th)

Stanisic had enormous problems with the much faster Adeyemi. Especially before the Mega Modeste chance, he let himself be badly duped by the young German national player. The Croatian was the weak point in Bayern’s defense and not a factor offensively.

Rating: 1/10

13. Kingsley Coman (from 46th)

Kingsley Coman was much more active than Gnabry, but lacked accuracy in passing and on his crosses. After his injury, he also lacked some momentum. His dismissal and the lack of defensive support for the overwhelmed Stanisic were unnecessary.

Rating: 1/10

14. Joshua Kimmich (from 46th)

The midfield leader brought structure to the Bayern game and was also the initiator of the 2-0 goal with his skillful vertical pass. Kimmich was also present on the defensive and won a very important duel with Bellingham in the penalty area. Towards the end of the game, Kimmich eased up a bit in the passing game. Of all the substitutes, he was clearly the best.

Rating: 7/10

15. Noussair Mazraoui (62nd minute)

The Moroccan did a solid job without making a big impression. However, the right-back was instrumental in equalizing, diving under the ball at the far post and allowing Modeste to head the ball.

Rating: 3/10

16. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (from 82nd)

The Cameroonian came on for the last ten minutes. However, he could no longer stage himself.
