Patience test for the record champions in the Bundesliga: After the Kiev success and the turbulent annual general meeting, FC Bayern Munich achieved a wafer-thin work victory against Arminia Bielefeld.
With his umpteenth shot on goal, Leroy Sané brought Bayern onto Siegerstrasse (71st) after Arminia Bielefeld and above all the outstanding keeper Stefan Ortega had kept the DSC box clean in a number of scoring chances. With the narrow success, Bayern took the lead again, which Borussia Dortmund had briefly taken over after the afternoon games. Bielefeld earned a hardworking picture that is extremely worthless for East Westphalia: Arminia remains penultimate in the table with nine points.

Arminia off to a good start
Arminia went into the game with the record champions with good self-confidence and a lot of commitment. The particularly active “masked man” Patrick Wimmer fought his way to the first corner of the game, and a little later threw the ball into a promising position (5th minute). But then the champions Bielefeld constricted, the Munich team developed chances almost every minute.
And again and again DSC keeper Stefan Ortega stood out in the Munich goal attempts: Thomas Müller and Leroy Sané (11th), Alphonso Davies (15th), Kingsley Coman, again Müller (both 21st), Robert Lewandowski (24th) – they all failed because of “Super-Ortega”. But also conspicuous: Bayern repeatedly made inaccuracies with long balls.
After the first few minutes, the Armines had concentrated on defensive work and hardly dared to venture into the opposing half. But shortly before the break, in this one scoring opportunity, which on paper defeated opponents against Bayern have to exploit in order to achieve success, on this one occasion Wimmer shot his teammate Okugawa.

After the break, the hosts got off to a better start: With a low shot from 13 meters, Sané missed the goal by a very thin margin. But even after an hour played, the Armines had kept their box clean with disciplined defensive work.
And again there was this one chance to score: After a yellow card against Bayern defender Lucas Hernández and the due free kick, Alessandro Schöpf chipped the ball at Fabian Klos, who appeared free in front of Bayern keeper Manuel. Klos missed the ball very thinly.
After the substitution of Jamal Musiala, the 1-0 for Munich fell: The German international served on the eighth position taken over by Leon Goretzka, Thomas Müller, who played the ball ideally for Sané. His world-class left-footed shot in the left corner of the goal was in this case out of reach for Ortega.
Even after the goal, the Arminia kept their order – and could continue to rely on their goalkeeper: Ortega again distinguished himself against Coman and applied with his constant top performance for the sports show team of the game day. The guests were lucky when the late substitute Serge Gnabry (78th) hit the bar.

On the sidelines of the game it became known that Bayern President Herbert Hainer wanted to approach the critical fans. Hainer had called club member Michael Ott on Saturday to arrange a personal meeting. Its application to end the Qatar sponsorship at the annual general meeting on Thursday (25.11.21) had been rejected by the club. Subsequently there was a riot.
