Bavarian songs and poetry in the Garching community center – district of Munich

One of the best bon mots of the greatest Franconian footballer of all time is the remarkable sentence: “It would be a bicycle chain.” This is how Lothar Matthäus mused in 2017 as a television expert in the face of a missed penalty. Among other things, Michael Vogtmann is known for appearing in the Nockherberg Singspiel as a stand-in for the greatest Franconian Minister of the Interior of all time, Joachim Herrmann (apart from Günther Beckstein perhaps). Vogtmann’s “Hättikonfetti” program, which the actor, musician, poet and cabaret artist is showing in Garching on Thursday, February 24, may evoke similar philosophical associations to Matthew’s saying. Apart from this lyrical homage to the subjunctive (which is well suited to the carnival season) (“Hatt i confetti, i dad di rubbed in … from top to bottom, from back to front, and i war dei Konfetterer beenn”), the native of Straubinger presents together with the Munich jazz pianist Charly Thomass in the community center more Bavarian songs and poems. They deal with “life and love, with Perchten, the Deife, actors and other things”. The event, which was moved from the Theater im Römerhof to the Bürgerhaus, begins at 7.30 p.m., and on the evening of the women’s carnival, visitors can look forward to bistro seating with catering. Tickets are available on the city’s website www.garching.de or reserve.
