Bavaria: two opposing candidacies from the Greens – Bavaria

At the party conference at the end of January, not only will state leader Eva Lettenbauer face competition, but also her co-chair Thomas von Sarnowski. Ludwig Sporrer wants to run against him and complains about a lack of “campaign, mobilization and reaction skills”.

The Bavarian Greens are facing a party conference with fighting candidates at the top, and both state chairmen will have to deal with challengers. Eva Lettenbauer and Thomas von Sarnowski had already announced before Christmas that they would apply for their positions again in Lindau at the end of January. After former state parliament member Gisela Sengl initially announced that she would run against Lettenbauer, there is now competition for Sarnowski: Ludwig Sporrer from the Munich-Giesing local association. He confirmed his ambitions to the SZ on Wednesday and said he wanted to officially submit the application as soon as possible. Despite the lack of national political recognition, there is talk in party circles of a “veritable challenger”.
