Pielenhofen has hard times behind it. In 2010, the German public was shocked by the hundreds of abuse cases that came to light at the time. For decades, the children who attended the elementary school and the boarding school of the Regensburger Domspatzen were subjected to the most severe violence. Those affected named the school later “hell” or “concentration camps“. In 2013 the diocese of Regensburg dissolved the school and had the cases processed by a lawyer.
