Bavaria state election 2023: The SZ Bavaria editorial team invites you. – Bavaria

The election campaign is in full swing, Bavaria will elect a new state parliament on October 8th. The CSU is losing in surveys, the traffic light opposition parties are also weakening, while the Free Voters and AfD are on the rise. So what is the election campaign about? What are the pressing questions in the current crises?

The Bayern editorial team is discussing this Süddeutsche Zeitung in two events with top politicians from the Free State.

The Green Party’s leading candidate Ludwig Hartmann and Bavaria’s Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann will start in Nuremberg. “CSU and Greens – the duel of the great adversaries” is the title of the discussion event on Monday, September 18th, in the Nuremberg Press Club (Gewerbemuseumsplatz 2). Bayern team leader Katja Auer moderated. The event starts at 7 pm.

On Thursday, September 28th, Agriculture Minister Michaela Kaniber (CSU) and Green Party parliamentary group leader Katharina Schulze will compete against each other in the speech duel in Rosenheim. This is about the topic “City, Country – Culture Clash”. Does the division in society really exist? Here the “woke” state capital of Munich, where gender issues are discussed – there the rural population who feel bullied when it comes to climate protection? And which side are the Greens and the CSU on? Sebastian Beck, the deputy head of the SZ’s Munich, Region and Bavaria department, will moderate the discussion. The venue is the Ballhaus (Weinstraße 12), starting at 7 p.m.

Admission is free. Places are limited, so pre-registration is required www.sz-erleben.de necessary.
