Bavaria: Repayment deadline for Corona emergency aid extended – Bavaria

There is a postponement for all those entrepreneurs who once received Corona emergency aid and may now have to pay it back: The deadline for the re-registration procedure has been extended from the end of June to December 31, 2023. This can be read on the website of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs.

Trade unions and associations have also reported an extension in the past few days. However, this is not enough for the BVMW association of small and medium-sized enterprises. Rather, it calls for the feedback procedure to be stopped completely until all legal uncertainties have been resolved. He recently received support for this from the Greens and the FDP. Economics Minister Hubert Aiwanger (FW) arranged for the audit himself, only to then blame the federal government again, the economic policy spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group, Albert Duin, is quoted in a statement from the association: “It is unacceptable that the Bavarian economy has to be used for political games.”

The Corona emergency aid should help companies in spring 2020 that had to close due to the pandemic. Since autumn 2022, they have had to prove that they received the money correctly.
