Bavaria: Railway line closed for several weeks – Bavaria

After a landslide, rail travelers on the route between Augsburg and Schongau in Upper Bavaria must expect restrictions for weeks. As a spokesman for the Bavarian Regiobahn (BRB) announced on Friday, a landslide was discovered on a railway embankment between Peißenberg and Weilheim on Monday. The section of the route was then immediately closed. In order to repair the damage, the section of the route is expected to be closed until April 7th.

According to the BRB, trains coming from Ammersee only travel to Weilheim during this time and commute between Peißenberg and Schongau. In addition, a replacement rail service with buses has been set up. The adjusted timetable will apply from this Saturday. Further restrictions are also foreseeable: the route between Geltendorf and Weilheim is expected to be closed for further construction work from August to December.
