In the deepest part of the Allgäu, in the Alpsee mountain world, is one of Germany’s longest all-weather toboggan runs: the Alpsee Coaster. At a top speed of 40 kilometers per hour, toboggan fans race down the 2.8 kilometer long track in the Allgäu Alps. There are numerous curves, waves and even jumps along the way. The speed is self-adjustable. If you want, you can buy a photo of your own toboggan tour at the valley station afterwards – the pictures are taken automatically with every ride. In summer there is also the opportunity for a few weeks to go tobogganing at night.

Who is allowed to toboggan?

Children from the age of three can ride with older ones. Children from the age of eight can venture onto the toboggan run alone if they are at least 1.40 meters tall.

How much does it cost?

The single ticket for the Alpsee Coaster costs 8 euros for adults (from 14 years) and 7 euros for children (6 to 13 years), for children up to five years the ride is free.

In Pottenstein in Franconian Switzerland there are two toboggan runs: the red Frankenrodel and the yellow Frankenbob. The former has been there since 1997 and is designed as a summer toboggan run. Here you zoom almost 1.2 kilometers into the valley in the red sled. From below, the lift takes you back up.

If the weather doesn’t cooperate for the Franken toboggan, there is the Frankenbob in Pottenstein. Snow, rain, cold – none of this is a problem. If it pours properly, a small roof is attached to the toboggan. And nothing stands in the way of tobogganing fun.

Who is allowed to toboggan?

The same rules apply to both toboggan runs: Children from the age of three can ride with adults. Children from the age of eight can also ride alone.

How much does it cost?

The ten-ticket is available for adults for 31 euros and for children it costs 21 euros.
