Bavaria: Napping on a dirt road triggers a large-scale police operation – Bavaria

Communication problems and a sleeping passenger have led to a larger deployment of police and rescue workers in the Lower Franconian district of Kitzingen. The driver of a Romanian minibus had reported a 47-year-old passenger missing at a petrol station and rest area in Kleinlangheim, who had not appeared after an hour, as reported by the Würzburg-Biebelried traffic police inspection on Wednesday.

The bus driver asked the gas station attendant for help on Tuesday, who in turn alerted the police. Because of language problems, the police initially thought it was a dead person. Therefore, a large-scale operation was triggered, in which, in addition to numerous police forces, fire brigades, rescue dogs, drones and a helicopter were also involved.

The helicopter crew finally found the missing person about two kilometers from the rest area on a dirt road. According to the police, he slept peacefully and was doing well. He said he just wanted to stretch his legs and then take a nap.
