Bavaria: Klaus Holetschek new chairman of the Swabian CSU – Bavaria

Bavaria’s Health Minister Klaus Holetschek is the new head of the CSU district association in Swabia. At a district party conference in Stadtbergen (Augsburg district) on Saturday, Holetschek was elected the new district chairman and successor to long-time incumbent Markus Ferber. According to the count, he received 124 of 127 votes cast, which corresponds to a share of 97.6 percent. Three delegates voted no.

“I’m happy about the great vote of confidence,” said Holetschek. With a great team and Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) at the top, they want to fight for a good result in Swabia and Bavaria in the state elections on October 8th. Ferber, who sits in the European Parliament for the CSU, has been CSU district chairman in Swabia since 2005. In March he declared that he had reached an agreement with Holetschek about the change at the top. Ferber wants to run again in the European elections next year.
