Bavaria: Free voters cancel the winter retreat due to corona cases – Bavaria

The parliamentary group of Free Voters canceled their three-day winter retreat at short notice, which should begin this Wednesday in the Maximilianeum in Munich. The reason: Corona cases with several employees of the parliamentary group and with at least one member. The FW parliamentary group leader Florian Streibl informed the SZ of the decision to cancel on Tuesday evening.

According to Streibl, the positive corona tests were noticed because all members of parliament and all employees underwent a PCR test in advance of the exam. Those who tested positive are reportedly symptom-free and all double vaccinated and boosted. It is currently unclear whether the more contagious omicron variant of the coronavirus is behind the majority of infections. In addition, not all test results were available on Tuesday evening.

Because of the Omikron wave, the Greens had already postponed their parliamentary group retreat planned for January 20 and 21 to April on Monday. One precautionary measure, there were no positive cases with the Greens, who are now only holding a digital, one-day meeting in the coming week. The Free Voters also want to make up for their exam in the spring. The CSU parliamentary group continued to stick to its plans on Tuesday evening to hold its winter retreat in the coming week.
