On July 1st, the fast lane, hotly promoted by Health Minister Klaus Holetschek, started for the recognition of foreign nurses who want to work in Bavarian clinics and retirement homes. But that doesn’t mean it’s going to be quick.
They come from countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Namibia, Vietnam or India – TalentOrange has brought a total of 1,800 newly qualified nurses from all over the world to Germany over the past ten years. She specializes in the placement of foreign nursing staff. The agency recruits university graduates in their home countries and finances German courses for them. The young people spend at least seven months cramming for the B2 degree. At the same time, the placement agency fights its way through the German bureaucracy for them: the foreign degree in nursing has to be recognised, preliminary approval from the employment agency has to be obtained and a visa has to be applied for. Then it’s off to Germany, that’s the plan. However, it has never gone to Bavaria. Just why?
