Bavaria: Construction company offers workers healthy food – Bavaria

Bavaria’s Prime Minister Markus Söder didn’t even stylize the bratwurst as the elixir of life. A life without it is theoretically possible, but meaningless, that’s his slogan. It can also be heard in the current state election campaign. Measured against this, the life of the construction workers of the Rädlinger group of companies in Cham is losing all meaning. They are increasingly eating without sausages.

You have to imagine that: construction workers. In rural area. And then one of them says in a BR report in all seriousness: “It’s just a change, not just always sausage rolls, sausage rolls – you’ll get sick of it at some point.” Sapperlot! Is Söder about to whistle an election campaign issue here?

It is unmistakable that the culinary culture war is just such for the CSU boss. At Erding’s much-discussed demo, Söder once again sensed “compulsive veganization”, driven by the Greens. It must have shocked him that something like temporarily abstaining from meat can also be done voluntarily. Or has the “re-education fantasies” (wording in the CSU basic program) already become reality?

At least not on the construction site in Cham. Rather, company boss Josef Rädlinger is concerned with the well-being of his employees. “If we think about how we have taken care of our construction machines in the past, they get the best oil and the best service so that they always work well. But nobody cared about good food for the employees.”

That’s why this year not only the administration staff in the canteen will be served salad from our own organic vegetable garden, but also the employees on the construction site by means of food trucks.

Now one might think that only Söder is concerned about the progressive de-sausage of Bavarian construction sites. In reality, however, an entire occupational group is in danger – at least if what his deputy Hubert Aiwanger recently described as a nightmare scenario for the common construction worker is true: “If he only gets meat once a week and only salad, he falls off the scaffolding on the third day .” However, such cases have not yet been reported from Cham.
