There it hangs, right in the first bend in the center of Thurnau. If Armin Laschet were to look out of the window of his limousine instead of – just for example – on his cell phone with the latest survey figures, he would see that the sisters and brothers from the Upper Franconian CSU had posted him dutifully. And what’s more: you even invited him to this pretty market town, in the middle of which the Thurnau Castle rises, shimmering in gold. It is Friday morning, ten o’clock, the sun is carefully peeking out of the clouds, almost chancellor weather.
