When it comes to electric cars, Tesla has long been unrivaled. Range, charging performance, sales figures, there was nothing comparable on the market. The German manufacturers? Still looking for a connection. But Tesla’s supremacy is currently beginning to waver. At the Auto China this spring, it became clear that Chinese manufacturers have long been providing the impetus. Even smartphone manufacturers like Xiaomi are building electric cars, and the battery manufacturer CATL promises a range of 1,000 kilometers with its new cells. BYD is now the world market leader.
