Bavaria: Animal rights activists criticize the planned split of the veterinary administration – Bavaria

Hardly anyone knows the depths of livestock farming in Bavaria as well as Friedrich Mülln. The animal welfare scandals that the 43-year-old activist uncovered with his Soko Tierschutz on Bavarian farms have made headlines far beyond the borders of the Free State. One example is the shocking suffering and death of cows on a huge dairy farm in Bad Grönenbach, Swabia. A central finding from this and all the other cases, at least from Mülln’s perspective: Despite all the state government’s commitment to animal protection, the veterinary administration and thus the control of the farmers has at least some serious weaknesses.
