“November 13 finally caught up with him. » It is with these words that the Life for Paris association announced on X (formerly Twitter) the death of Fred Dewilde, who was among the survivors of the Bataclan. The designer ended his life on Sunday May 5.
The association of victims of the attacks of November 13, 2015, regrets the loss of “a pillar” and a “talented artist”, attaching to the post a photo-portrait, a drawing, as well as a written text by the family of the deceased entitled “Love, forgiveness, sharing and knowledge”.
“Mon Bataclan” and “Draw me a trauma”
Inside, his loved ones evoke a gentle and sensitive colossus “devastated by the violence of his traumas against which he fought tirelessly with so much courage, talent and generosity since that disastrous evening (…) when he said that a part of him died that evening. The text concludes “in this conflict-laden world, his legacy is a struggle. Private Fred fell today and we are his heirs. »
In legacy, the artist leaves behind several graphic novels including “Mon Bataclan” and “Morsures”, published respectively in 2016 and 2018. His line and his experience also served as a basis for “Draw me a trauma”a collaborative work born from his meeting with the therapist Armelle Vautrot and published in November 2020.
