The German basketball players can again rely on captain Dennis Schröder in the World Cup group final against Slovenia. The 29-year-old guard is available for action after back problems in the game against Georgia, as a spokesman for the German Basketball Federation (DBB) confirmed shortly before the game started (1:10 p.m. / Magentasport).

In the World Cup group final against Slovenia, the German basketball players can again count on the captain Dennis Schroeder build. The 29-year-old guard is available for action after back problems in the game against Georgia, as a spokesman for the German Basketball Federation (DBB) confirmed shortly before the game started (1:10 p.m. / Magentasport).

Schröder had been substituted early in the game and then disappeared from the arena without comment. Against the Slovenians and NBA star Luka Doncic it is about winning the group. Both teams are already qualified for the quarterfinals.

National coach Gordon Herbert again has to do without young star Franz Wagner, who has already missed the fourth game in a row because of his ankle injury. The 22-year-old twisted his ankle in the opening game against Japan and has been sidelined ever since. It was initially unclear whether it would be enough for the quarter-finals in Manila on Wednesday. The DBB does not give details of Wagner’s injury. The Orlando Magic pro has been training again this week, albeit mostly individually and without contact.
