The cup favorites show no weakness in the semi-finals. Bamberg’s basketball players can only keep up in the first ten minutes. Then Bayern pull away in front of a surprise guest.

Defending champion Bayern Munich has reached the final of the basketball Bundesliga cup finals. The league leaders effortlessly beat Bamberg Baskets 81:62 (48:32) at BMW Park at home and lived up to their role as favorites. The best Bayern thrower was ex-NBA professional Serge Ibaka with 15 points.

In the second semi-final, Alba Berlin and the German champions ratiopharm Ulm will meet at 5.30 p.m. (Dyn). The final will take place on Sunday (2 p.m./BR television and Dyn).

Bayern only had a few problems in the first quarter in front of world champion captain Dennis Schröder. Schröder took advantage of the all-star break in the NBA to take a short trip to Munich and initially saw Bamberger playing courageously, who were surprisingly ahead 22:21 after the first ten minutes.

But after that the Munich team turned up the heat and won the second period 27:10. The game was already decided at the change of sides. The final two quarters were nothing more than an exhibition for the Euroleague team. Star coach Pablo Laso was able to rest some of his top players for the final this Sunday without any problems.
