Two nice salespeople, a great piece of jewelry: Actually, nothing can go wrong on this day at “Bares for Rares”. But then Horst Lichter learns the desired price.

Horst Lichter is absolutely thrilled when Sophia Külper and Leopold Krey enter the “Bares für Rares” studio: “What a beautiful couple,” says the moderator happily, “you are both professional models!” But Lichter is wrong: she is a personal trainer and is studying health management. He is a young entrepreneur: he has several catering businesses and a real estate business. He impressed Horst Lichter with that.

But actually the couple from Wiesbaden came to the ZDF junk show to sell a brooch. An heirloom from Külper’s grandmother, which she in turn inherited from her grandmother.

No merchant card at “Bares for Rares”

Heide Rezepa-Zabel describes the object as an “interesting piece of jewelery with an angular, wrapped design”. In the middle is an aquamarine, left and right elements that act like wings. It is a very attractive piece with diamonds of different cuts. The chronological classification is not very clear: “It has this Art Deco feeling,” says the expert, but due to the moving contours and plasticity, she would put it in the 1930s.

It gets interesting when Horst Lichter asks about the desired price. “I would now say: 13,000,” replies Sophia Külper. Horst Lichter stopped spitting for a brief moment, he simulated a heart attack, but then quickly regained his composure and realized: “Okay, I asked for the wish.”

Heide Rezepa-Zabel reacts much more calmly – but doesn’t give the two young sellers much hope when it comes to their request: she estimates the material value at 3200 euros. In addition, the piece of jewelry is very attractive, which is why it comes to an estimated value of 4000 to 4500 euros. “Which is still a hell of a lot of money,” added Lichter.

But clearly not enough for the ideas of Sophia Külper, who once again confirms that she does not want to give up the jewelry for the price. She puts her pain threshold at 6,000 euros – reaching that in the dealership seems utopian.

And so Horst Lichter has to refuse the two young people the dealer card with a heavy heart, not without praising them again: “You are an enchanting couple, you will make your way.”
