Striker Alvaro Morata is reportedly FC Barcelona’s first option for mid attack. First discussions are said to have already taken place.

Alvaro Morata is FC Barcelona’s preferred candidate for the position of center forward. This is reported by the Spanish sports newspaper AS. Accordingly, there have already been initial discussions with the attacker, who is currently on loan from Atletico Madrid to Juventus Turin, and his advisor. Barca want Morata already in January, because the Catalans are not satisfied with the current center forward Luuk de Jong, so they want to let the Dutchman on loan from Seville go again.

Barca coach Xavi himself is said to have taken the initiative and called Morata to inquire about his situation, according to the report. Morata said that he does not feel comfortable at Juve and that he would love to agree to a transfer to Barca. For the Catalans, a loan until the end of the season would be out of the question, they would rather rely on a long-term collaboration with the 29-year-old.

Two Morata successors are already traded at Juve

For the move to Barca, Morata is ready to lower his salary demands significantly. At Juventus, two possible successors have already been discussed in the past with Arek Milik (Marseille) and Gianluca Scamacca (Sassuolo).

Morata started 14 of 19 league games at Juve this season. He scored five goals and two assists, but as fifth in the table, the old lady is currently again following her own claims.
