Because of Ryan Gosling’s faux fur coat: The animal welfare organization PETA gives “Barbie” its blessing.

Millions of viewers love “Barbie”, the film by Greta Gerwig (40) has already grossed over a billion US dollars. No woman on the director’s chair has ever managed this. The animal protection organization PETA also likes the comedy with Margot Robbie (33) as the title heroine. PETA Vice President Lisa Lange praised “Barbie” to “TMZ”.

The reason for PETA’s blessing is the outfit worn by Barbie’s permanent partner Ken, played by Ryan Gosling (42). In some scenes, Ken wears a swanky white fur coat. However, this is not made of real mink, but an artificial fur. Also, Ken walks around in vegan leather-look boots. These costumes, according to Lisa Lange, reflect “actor Ryan Gosling’s love of animals” and his “refusal to wear fur”.

Ken costume sold out for Halloween

The fake Ken fur could be a hit next Halloween. According to “TMZ” he is already sold out as a costume for the holiday on October 31st. PETA Vice Lange gave her blessing to the US magazine.

However, it is now common practice for fake furs to be used in films. Even the “Lord of the Rings” films or “Game of Thrones” dispensed with real animal skins. PETA regularly praises productions for their animal-friendly costumes. When Jennifer Lopez (54) wore real fur for “Hustlers” in 2019, there was a protest at the premiere.
