Since 2008 he has hosted the NDR talk show with Barbara Schöneberger. On her 50th birthday, Hubertus Meyer-Burckhardt sings the praises of his colleague and talks about secret codes in the event of a blackout risk.
Mr. Meyer-Burckhardt, can you still remember your first meeting with Barbara Schöneberger?
That was in 1998. As a young presenter of a tennis magazine, she was my guest on the NDR talk show. Marcel Reich-Ranicki was also a guest on the show, but he didn’t really take it seriously at first. But this didn’t shock Barbara at all; she countered it with humor and quick wit. Much later she received the accolade when the same Reich-Ranicki decided to be interviewed by her on the talk show and not by me.
